RIGHTS
1. Kanaxa grants the client(s) exclusive license to use the final cover design for their book and/or e-book cover and associated promotional materials.
2. The client(s) understand the license to use stock images is limited to a print-run of 250,000 units, or sales in the case of e-books. For books with a print-run over 250,000, the stock image site may charge additional licensing fees outside of Kanaxa’s control.
3. The client(s) grant the right to Kanaxa to use client’s final book cover design, name, and book title to include in portfolios and marketing uses. Kanaxa retains rights and ownership of all design and draft materials.
CONFIDENTIALITY
4. All client information and materials are considered confidential and only for use by Kanaxa to complete a project. No information will be shared with any third party whatsoever.
SERVICES
5. Included in the design process:
a) Four cover files of varying sizes, formatted in JPEG (PDF available upon request at no additional charge); and
b) Stock images used in the book cover design.
N.B. Kanaxa does not accept images supplied by the client or third party (does not include logos or other vector images) nor does Kanaxa knowingly use AI images from stock websites.
ATTRIBUTION
6. Design credit to appear in client’s book (on the back cover and/or the copyright page for e-books) as “Cover design by Kanaxa”.
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND LIABILITIES
7. Client is fully responsible for proofing the design provided by Kanaxa. Kanaxa will not be held
financially or legally responsible for any problems, costs, fees or expenses incurred by client as a result of using the book cover design.
PAYMENT
8. Client agrees to pay the full amount agreed to upon approval of final book cover design. Kanaxa will not release finished files to the client or other parties until final payment has been received, which will conclude this agreement.
CANCELLATION POLICY
9. The client or Kanaxa may cancel this agreement at any time by providing email notice to the other party.
COMPLETE AGREEMENT
10. This agreement is the entire agreement of all parties.
